I lost my job due to failing a drug test and I don’t want you to go through the same thing, which is why I want to talk to you about a couple of things right now.
It won’t take up much of your time, and it could save you a lot of hassle. I want to talk to you about Spectrumlabs Quick Fix reviews and why they are wrong, and why failing a drug test because of urine temperature is a bigger problem than people talk about.
Not only am I going to talk to you about Quick Fix in detail, but I’ll cover how it compares to other similar cheap fake urine brands.
I’ll talk you through how I failed a drug test, and then what happened when I used a significantly better brand of fake urine to pass a drug test a few months ago.
My Story: Why I’m Warning You About Quick Fix Failed Problems
I submitted this for publication because I didn’t want people caught out in the way I was.
I lost my job because of a failed drug test, and it was really unfair how it turned out.
In the state in the USA I live, it’s even legal now to smoke marijuana, but the company I worked for still tested for it, and would fire people testing positive for its use.
Let that sink in. You could smoke a joint in the evening, in your own time, not harming anyone, and certainly not affecting your job, and then get sacked for it.
My Situation & How I Failed A Drug Test With Quick Fix Synthetic Urine
In my job, I knew there was a random drug testing element. But as it was just a retail job on basic money, I didn’t think it would ever really be enforced because of the cost. But there was a problem. My boss, my direct line manager, didn’t really like me. We clashed over a couple of issues because he was an idiot.
The thing is, your direct line manager could put you forward for a random drug test due to suspicion of drug use. He knew that I smoked weed in the evenings, and when we fell out, he just called me in and said I would face a drug test because he suspected I was high at work.
It was Catch-22, it was game over. I knew I would fail, he knew I would fail.
I used Quick Fix 6.3 urine by grabbing it at a local smoke shop (I lived in a big city where that was possible, which isn’t very common). I was determined to not let him beat me, and that probably clouded my judgement.
I grabbed that brand because I’d read good things about online when I had been researching the night before. It was all a bit rushed, but the few Quick Fix reviews I’d read suggested it was good enough.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t really good enough. I’m not convinced on reflection it was complex enough to pass a modern drug test anyway, but that’s not why I failed.
Here’s The Real Problem With Cheap Fake Urine Brands
The reason I actually failed a drug test and lost my job, much to the delight of the guy who stitched me up, was because the sample temperature was outside the range that human urine exits the body at.
Quick Fix uses a heatpad, which is common to all of the cheaper fake urine brands.
The idea is the heatpad kicks out a steady heat that keeps it within the correct temperature range for a couple of hours so that you can submit the sample.
The problem is that around 50% of the time, it now turns out after more research, that doesn’t actually happen.
Because it was all new to me, and I panicked a bit when I went to submit the sample, believing they would find me out at any moment, I didn’t check that the temperature was in the correct range when I poured Quick Fix into the sample submission cup.
So I failed my drug test because of the urine temperature, and what was so annoying is that it was easy to avoid. However, I learned a lesson from it, won’t get caught out again, and on reflection, why on earth would I want to stay in such an unhappy work situation anyway? That guy did me a favor.
What’s The Normal Temperature For Male Urine & Female Urine?
When it comes to submitting your fake sample within the correct temperature range, you have a very narrow window to operate in.
Human urine exits the body within a very narrow temperature range, at between 95°F and 100°F.
Outside of these ranges, it will be flagged as a suspected fake sample, and it will undergo a full analysis.
Also, note that the normal temperature for male urine is the same as with females as well, so it doesn’t matter who you are, you still have to operate within a very narrow temperature range, and unfortunately the heatpads just don’t have the ability to maintain it well.
What About Complexity And Scrutiny?
The other problem that Quick Fix reviews don’t ever really mention is that it’s complexity and ability to pass human scrutiny and not great either.
Quick Fix 6.3 is only basic in composition:
- Contains urea and uric acid
- Balanced for pH and specific gravity
- Contains the right proportion of creatinine
- Looks like urine (sort of)
Beyond that basic scrutiny about, it’s going to fail. So, if the validity checks look for anything other than the basics of urea, uric acid, specific gravity/pH, or creatinine, then it’s screwed and so you.
Add that fact to the heatpad failing problem, and you can see why brands like Quick Fix, Magnum, U Pass, Urine Luck, and all the other rubbish brands that are sold for less than $50, will struggle.
Also, Quick Fix just looks like urine, and for me, not even that convincingly if you hold it up to the light. Smell it and it’s neutral, shake it and it doesn’t froth like human urine (which contains albumin, which is why it does froth that way).
So, although it’s rare nowadays, the suspicion of the person you hand the sample to, or a lab technician, can be verified simply by shaking or sniffing the sample, or even is holding up the light and seeing what I believe is a slightly green tint to Quick Fix.
I Recently Faced Another Drug Test At Work
I actually love my new job, and have no intention of losing it through a failed drug test because I enjoy a joint at night. So I researched one hell of a lot more, and settled on Sub Solution as the replacement fake urine brand I was going to use.
Sub Solution is in a completely different universe to Quick Fix and all the other awful brands I’ve mentioned:
- Perfectly balanced for pH and specific gravity
- Contains the right amount of creatinine
- Contains a total of 14 chemicals found in urine
- Looks, froths, and even smells like human urine
- Doesn’t rely on a heatpad
You’ve got a mix of complexity, the ability to fool both visual testing and the dipstick validity checks, along with a foolproof way to get the temperature within the correct range, meaning you don’t have to worry about a failed drug test because of the urine temperature.
My drug test this time was it Quest diagnostics. Again it was unsupervised, and in fact was one of those digitalized eCup tests. You put in a machine, and it analyses your sample.
I passed with no problems at all, even under modern digital scrutiny. Sub Solution is so much more advanced than Quick Fix, and has the advantage of the heat activator powder, that it’s just not a fair fight.
How To Use Sub Solution To Pass A Drug Test
So you don’t fall into the same trap that I did, let’s talk you through how to use Sub Solution to pass a drug test.
It’s not cheap, costing $85, twice the price of Quick Fix, but you’re getting a far higher grade of fake urine that will pass all normal levels of scrutiny.
It’s also dead easy to use, foolproof in fact:
1. Just before you leave, mix the Sub Solution powdered with some filtered water. Shake it gently until it’s completely dissolved.
2. That’s it for preparation, tuck it into your underwear to hide it, put on baggy jogging bottoms, and head off to submit your sample.
3. Just before you go into the building to submit your sample, check the temperature strip, then if needed, tap in up to 1/3 of the heat activator powder. Shake it gently until it dissolves, then carefully watch the temperature strip for about 90 seconds.
4. Repeat the process of tapping in a little extra heat activator powder if you can’t get a reading, or it’s only just reading close to 90°F. Tap in a little more so you get a reading of as close to 100°F as possible but without going above this level.
That’s it, those four steps are how easy it is to submit Sub Solution to pass a drug test guaranteed.
Sub Solution is not cheap, but it is the most effective fake urine out there right now.

Quick Fix Synthetic Urine FAQ
Can a lab tell if it's synthetic urine?
A lab can tell if it’s synthetic urine under the following circumstances:
1. It’s visually spotted as a fake. This could also be that somebody has smelled the sample, or shaken it to see if it froths like urine. Basically, it could be found out if somebody gets suspicious.
2. If it’s submitted outside the correct temperature range of between 90°F 100°F, then it evidently can’t be human.
3. If it’s not complex enough, and doesn’t pass validity checks, then it could be detected as fake.
Do they watch you pee for a pre employment drug test?
There are three types of drug test. The type you take will determine the scrutiny level you face.
The unsupervised test is the most common. 95% of the drug tests carried out in the USA each year are unsupervised. You’ll be behind a screen, or in a completely different room, when you submit your sample.
The supervised drug test is where somebody is paying attention to you. They will not be directly observing you, but they will be in the room with you as a deterrent.
The observed test is where someone will literally be standing and watching you urinate. However, supervised and observed drug testing are rare, and you have to be informed in advance. They usually only happen under the circumstances of law enforcement, or a previously failed initial drug test.
Does Quick Fix work?
Yes, Quick Fix could work to pass a drug test. But will Quick Fix work most of the time? Well, the chances are not high.
Drug testing has moved on one hell of a lot in the past decade. Quick Fix is an incredibly basic formula that contains nothing more than urea, uric acid, creatinine. If they look for anything else, they will not find it.
Quick Fix doesn’t even really look like urine, and it definitely doesn’t froth or smell like it. Any visual scrutiny and it’s toast.
Finally, Quick Fix uses a heatpad. It’s not even very good, and its variable in the heat it kicked out. It will really struggle to keep the temperature within the 10° variance (between 90°F and 100°F) that is required to pass drug test.
Does Concentra test for synthetic urine 2023?
No drug company tests specifically for synthetic urine. They look for a sample that has all the hallmarks of human urine.
So, don’t think of it as a validity check to look for fake urine, because they don’t. Your fake sample has to mimic human urine as closely as possible. That’s why only Sub Solution and Quick Luck are now recommended to try and fool modern drug testing.
How long does it take for a urine test to come back from the lab?
If it’s a negative test then you usually get your results within 24 hours, 48 hours if the lab is busier.
If it’s one of the digitalized eCup tests (you’ll know because you put your sample into a machine don’t interact with a human) then it could be as little as 15 minutes if it’s a negative result.
However, if the initial test is positive, then they do the validity checks again in more detail. Then, depending on protocol and money spent, they will either reject the sample, or send it for a full gas chromatography – mass spectrometry analysis. This could add two or three days to the timescales.
What temperature does urine have to be for a drug test?
Human urine exits the body at around 98°F. Legally, to allow for two minutes of cooling, any sample between 90°F 100°F is a valid sample.
